ROSE IRENE FIDELAK (nee GRESCHUK) It is with profound sadness that the Fidelak family announces the unexpected passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Rose passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 6, 2001 at the Portage District General Hospital. Rose was born in Ladywood, Manitoba in 1922, and married Paul Fidelak in 1942. She raised five children in the Weston area and moved to Portage la Prairie in 1972 and lived there until her passing. She retired from Campbells Soups Co. in 1987. Throughout her life her major focus was her family. Rose took pride in her gardening, baking and canning skills. Rose will be sadly missed by her loving husband Paul; her children, Donald (Pauline) of Winnipeg, daughter-in-law Sylvia of Winnipeg, Robert (Marg) of Cobalt, ON, Donna of Winnipeg and Glenn (Janice) of Okotoks, AB; her grandchildren, Jonathon (Karen), Daryl (Marija), Jason, Benjamin (Keri), Jennifer, Steven, Michael, David, and Joshua; and great-granddaughters, Lauren and MacKenzie. Rose was predeceased by her son Richard in 1991. A celebration of Roses life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roses memory to the Portage District General Hospital Foundation, 524 - 5th Street SE, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3A8. The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Ross, Dr. Antonissen, and the nursing staff of the Surgical Ward for their support and care.
