ALFONSO GONZALEZ November 24, 1933 - September 4, 2001 Con los ojos limpios veo la nueva primavera, la manana absuelta. Con los ojos lavados de pensamientos, la alegria es otra vez lo que comienza sin ideas, La locura feliz, lo que se estrena. Alli esta el mar. Mira el mar. Los pinos tiemblan aqui, que no, que si. La brisa me envuelve, vuela mi camisa y un frescor me anima. Con los ojos cerrados pienso en mis queridos amigos que no viven esta dicha. Con los ojos abiertos Mi sonrisa riza la melancolia. "TE RECORDAREMOS SIEMPRE" It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Alfonso Gonzalez in San Diego, Chile, on September 4, 2001. He is deeply loved and missed by his wife Maria Gonzalez Ortiz and family, daughter Gloria Constantine (nee Daza) sons, Victor, Pedro, Gabriel and Roberto Daza; grandchildren and great-grandchildren and immediate family in Chile. Alfonso was born in Chile and lived in Argentina before moving to Canada in 1977. He was a dedicated employee of D.Cohn Trans Canada. As a young man he enjoyed participating in the sports of boxing and soccer. Alfonso was a quiet gentleman and an avid reader. He enjoyed music, especially opera. He enjoyed travelling with his wife and attending horse races. Alfonso will be fondly remembered. Family and friends are invited to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Monday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m. for a mass dedicated to his memory.
