ELLEN (NELL) STEVENSON (nee WAREHAM) Peacefully, following a lengthy illness, Ellen, aged 84, passed away at Deer Lodge Centre on September 5, 2001. Ellen leaves to mourn her husband of 64 years, Charlie; daughters, Lorraine and husband Jack Dillabough, Eleanor and husband Rick Robson; sons, Bill and wife Betty, Ed and wife Diane; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Ellen was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Margaret Wareham; her four brothers and two sisters. Mom enjoyed reading, bingo, crosswords, all types of sewing and cooking. She particularly enjoyed a good game of crib, with which she passed many hours over the years with family friend Ray Smyth. Mom had fond memories of her more than 20 years with the T. Eaton Company, first with the Mail Order and later with the Gift Wrapping Department, retiring in 1982. Mom showed her love for us by the countless things she did. She thought the world of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always supportive of their activities, never missing birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions in their lives. Her kindness and devotion to her family will forever be cherished. A celebration of Ellens life will be held Monday, September 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave., with Rev. Bill Miller officiating. The service will terminate at the chapel. Interment will take place at the Rivers Cemetery following a private graveside service, with Rev. Glenna Beauchomb officiating. Pallbearers will be John Dillabough, Cory Stevenson, David Hills, Rob Haderer, Perry Loewen, Richard Robson. Friends and relatives may pay their respects between 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. prior to the service taking place. The family wishes to thank the staff of Tower 4, Deer Lodge Centre for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ellens memory may be made to the Deer Lodge Foundation or CancerCare Manitoba.
