DOUGLAS CARL OLUND With his soul set free from a body imprisoned with a short and courageous battle with cancer, we the family announce the passing of our dear husband, brother, uncle and special friend to all, on September 15, 2001. Douglas was a very special man, who touched everyones heart who knew him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to whom ever needed it, and always greeted people on the street with a wave or a pleasant hello. Douglas lived on Sydney Ave., all his life up to the last year, where he lived on Strauss Dr. He missed his garage on Sydney Ave., where he could be found tinkering with his car or to work on doing some carpentry, which he had a skill for. He leaves to cherish his wife Irene; sisters, Bernice Still of Sardis, B.C., Helen (Ernie) Woodhouse of Binscarth, MB; Betty Ann Poole of Winnipeg, MB; brother Eric (Karin) Oland of Whitby, Ont. Also, many nieces, nephews and stepchildren. He was predeceased by his father in December, 1958; mother in November, 1979; sisters, Verna in February, 1993, Thelma in February, 2001, and special brother-in-law Frank in February, 2001. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home.
