HELEN SADOWY Mrs. Helen Sadowy, aged 84 years, of Cooks Creek, MB, dearly beloved wife of the late Frank Sadowy passed away on Friday, September 7, 2001 at East Gate Lodge, Beausejour, MB. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Veronica (Bob) Osiowy of Hazelridge, and Bernice (Louis) Fontaine of Cooks Creek, her grand-children, Shawn (Kristin) Osiowy, Chris (Debbie) Osiowy, Donna Fontaine, and Diana (Kevin) Cyncora; her great-grandchildren Conrad, Danielle and Myles Cyncora; brothers, Mike, Joe, and Leon Botchar; and sisters, Frances Shaykewich and Anne Sichello; also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Frank; parents Vincent and Josephine Botchar; and her brothers, Anton and Stanley. For the greatest part of her life, Mom lived in the Cooks Creek area where she enjoyed her gardening and country living. During this time, she was an active participant volunteering her services at various church functions at St. Michaels. Times like Christmas and Easter were always very important family events for her. Later on in her life, after the passing of her husband, Frank, she moved from Cooks Creek to Columbus House in Winnipeg. Due to her failing health, she then moved to East Gate Lodge in Beausejour. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, September 11 at 8:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 12 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church, Cooks Creek with Rev. Fr. S. Gacki presiding. Interment will follow at St. Michaels parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at East Gate Lodge for their thoughtful and loving care that they have given Mom.
