Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (BOB) JAMES DOUGHERTY After a brief illness, Bob passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2001, at the Grace Hospital. Bob will be sadly missed by his wife Olive; son Bradley; sister-in-law Betty Potoroka; niece Gwen (Garry) Timm; and family pet TJ. Bob will also be remembered by sister Norma (Ray) Lozinski. Bob was predeceased by his parents. At the age of 18 years, Bob joined the P.P.C.L.I. and went to Korea for four years. Upon his return, he worked for Christies and then joined the Winnipeg Fire Department in 1957. Bob served for 35 years and 10 months with the Department, retiring in 1993 as District Chief. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 12 at 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with Chaplain Mark Young officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bobs memory to the Firefighters Burn Fund, 202 - 666 St. James St. Winnipeg, MB, R3G 3J6 or to the Salvation Army, 500 - 55 Donald St. Winnipeg, MB, R3C 1L8, or to a charity of choice. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Chaplain Mark, Rick, and staff at 4W Grace Hospital and to the Firefighters Support Group for their support and care.
