JOHN CHARLES WRIGHT Peacefully, on Saturday, September 8, 2001 at the Kin Place, Oakbank, MB, John Charles Wright passed away at the age of 88 years. John was predeceased by his beloved wife Winnifred Mary Wright (nee Melling). He is survived by his four children, Pat, Ken, Dan, Marianne, and their families. John was born in Winnipeg and spent his early years on the family farm west of Mulvihill, MB. He moved to the city to work and raise his family. He was employed most of his life with Merchants Consolidated where he started in the warehouse and moved up the ladder to middle management. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Upon retirement he enjoyed many good times fishing, gardening, mountain biking and cross country skiing. He particularly enjoyed music. He would spend many hours just listening to his music or playing his violin. He was a gentle man who touched the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A private family graveside service has been held at the family plot in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of John to the Manitoba Wildlife Rehabilitation Organization Centre, St. Adolphe. KERRS FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements, ph. 943-6688.
