EVELYN LUELLA BURFOOT Peacefully on September 10, 2001, at St. Boniface Hospital our dear wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away at age 91. Evelyn was born in Starbuck, MB on February 5, 1910, daughter of Andrew and Cornelia Rice. She leaves to cherish her memory, husband of 58 years, Robert and children, George (Lynda), Ken (Gail), Carolyn (Jim Fedorwich) grandchildren Scott, Jennifer, Jerry, Billy, Kris, Kimberly, Courtney, Mackenzie and Kathleen; also great grandchildren Andrew, Cole, Brittni, Madison, Brennan, Joshua and Nicholaus. She also leaves to mourn her passing, sisters Marjorie, Irene (Toronto) and brother Irvin (Starbuck) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Adelaide, Alma, Ruth and brother Orville. Evelyn was a lifelong member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church and was an active member of the Order of Eastern Star, Patricia No. 8. Mum was a strong, intelligent and loving person with a great sense of humour. She enjoyed summers at the cottage at Grand Beach, family get-togethers, her many church activities and her association with the Eastern Star. For the past 14 years she developed many dear friendships and was actively involved in the social activities at Betelstadur Housing Co-op. Cremation has taken place with a private interment at Brookside Cemetery. A celebration of Mums life will be held on Friday, September 14 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 600 Minto Street, at 1:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Evelyns memory to the Memorial Fund, Our Saviours Lutheran Church, or the St. Boniface Hospital and Research Foundation, 409 Tache Ave. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Alexander Pan and the staff on the 5th Floor, as well as the staff of the 2nd Floor CVT Unit at St. Boniface Hospital who made Mums stay as comfortable as possible and for their emotional support during her stay.
