HOWARD JEFFERS CHIPMAN Peacefully, after a lengthy illness and courageous battle, Howard Chipman passed away with all of his family at his side. Howie was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Geraldine Chipman, as well as two sons, Daniel and James. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Patricia and his two sisters, Blanche Coleman of Louisiana and Geraldine McKellar of Toronto. Howie had a large family of which he was very proud. His memory will be deeply cherished by his son Tom and children, Trysha, Jeffrey and Cory; daughter Wendy Auld (Keith) and children, Stacey and Shannon; daughter Laurie Breitenstein and son Dexter; daughter Kerri Wait and children, Ryan and Jaclyn; son John (Crystal) and children, Bailey and Cody. He will also be missed by his extended family including Kathy, Ken, Brad, Art, Wanda, Kristen and Amber. Born in Regina on November 24, 1931, Howie moved to Winnipeg at an early age. While serving with the Canadian Armed Forces, he met and married his beloved wife and soul mate Patricia Marie Mills of St. Thomas, ON. Howie and Pat made their permanent home in Winnipeg, where they had many long time friends both in and outside the military. Howie was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 30 for many years. Although well liked by all who met Howie, he had a special gift of being able to relate to children. Not only his grandchildren, but even the neighbourhood children were drawn to him. They would even stop by just to chat. Special thanks to the very caring staff of the Riverview Health Centre. At Howies request, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Howies memory to Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 2P4. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements 586-8044.
