PERCIVAL (PERCY) FREDERICK MACKLEM Percival (Percy) Frederick Macklem passed away suddenly Sunday, September 9, 2001 on a sunny afternoon in Tsawwassen. Dad will be lovingly missed by his best friend and wife of 60 years, Evelyn, who always spoiled him with love, attention, and great cooking. Mom and Dad first dated at Hugh John MacDonald (Winnipeg) in Junior High, were married in 1942 before Dad went overseas with the R.C.A.F. 410 Cougar Squadron. On his return Dad worked at the Winnipeg Tribune for 36 years. Leaving good friends and family, Mom and Dad moved West in 1983 to fulfil a lifelong dream of living on the West Coast. He was predeceased by his son Murray, and brother Marshall. He is survived by his son Bill (Kath), White Rock; daughters, Sharon Read(Gary), Surrey, and Barbara Gross (Clarence), Winnipeg. Also grandchildren, Jenny, Jocelyn (Travis), David, Raymond Michael, Danielle and Christopher and Chris and Jeff. Also survived by brother Ken (Fort Nelson), and many nieces and nephews. Dad was always happiest surrounded by his family and friends no matter what the occasion, or helping his cul de sac friends and their children (Gramps Percy). We will always miss and love him dearly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society. The memorial service will be held Saturday, September 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Delta Funeral Home, 5329 Ladner Trunk Rd., Delta, BC. Percy was a member of the Tsawwassen Legion.
