Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDNA SARA SALAMANDYK 1926 - 2001 On Monday, Sept-ember 10, 2001, Edna Sara Salamandyk, aged 75, passed away peacefully at Grace General Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. Edna was predeceased by her husband Alexander in 1975; her parents, Florance (1972) and Raoul (1981) Lamontagne; as well as her siblings, Emilian (1944), Octave (1992), and Laura (1988). Edna was loved and her memory will be cherished by her surviving family, daughter Beatrice and husband Bill, son Bruce and wife Lenore; two grandchildren, Joanne (Sheldon), Keith (Esther), and one stepgrandchild Triston; five great-grandchildren, Natasha, Travis, Bianca, Blayne, and Brooke. Edna will also be missed by her brothers, Modeste (Sara), Roland (Vera), Elie (Emily), Armand (Doris), Romeo (Judy), Archie (Bernice), and Freddy; sisters, Hortance (Adalord), and Rita (Cliff) cousin Bertha (George) sisters-in-law, Alfie, and Mary; brothers-in-law, John (Irene), and Bill; numerous nieces and nephews. Edna was a kind-hearted woman who dedicated a lot of her years to helping others. Her volunteer work was a big part of her life that she enjoyed since it gave her a great sense of accomplishment. Her other pleasures that she loved was spending time at the casino as well as playing Bingo with all her friends at Legion No.4. Ednas absence will not only be felt by family but everyone who she has come in contact with due to the lasting impression she made on people she met. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 14 at 10:00 a.m., in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Green Acres Lane. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined. Anyone wishing to do so may make a donation in Ednas honour to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. The family would like to express its sincerest gratitude to all the staff of the Grace General Hospital for their constant care throughout her stay. We would also like to extend a special thanks to all the friends and family who went out of their way to give care and compassion to Edna during this time.
