ERIC KEITH WALLACE Peacefully, at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, MB, Eric Wallace passed away at the age of 74 years. Eric was born in Scotland on May 5, 1927. He came to Canada in 1948. From 1948 to 1955 he was employed in a variety of jobs. Some of these jobs were at the Bank of Montreal in Calgary, Medicine Hat, Grande Prairie and Edmonton. Then he worked for CPR as a Train Steward, and after that for Winnipeg Hydro. He then began employment with Canada Post in Winnipeg. In 1977, Eric moved to a country home near Steinbach. He worked at the Steinbach Post Office until 1985, when due to health reasons, he was forced to take early retirement. In 1992, he moved to Steinbach, to the Hanover Terrace, where he resided until July 19, when he was admitted to the Bethesda Hospital, till his passing on September 10, 2001. Eric is survived by his mother Catherine; sisters, Eileen and husband Reg, Kathleen and husband Neil, Barbara and husband Finlay; brother Jack and wife Joan; and all their families. He was predeceased by his father John Keith Wallace in 1962 and by his good friend Dave Wichert in 1985. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with viewing starting at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
