WALTER HUCKO Peacefully, on Wednesday, September 12, 2001, at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Walter Hucko passed away at the age of 79 years. Walter is survived by his beloved wife Julia; son George (Denisse), their children, Adam and Lyndsey; son Victor (Kimberley), their children, Cortney, Dayna and Timothy; two brothers, Michael (Krystyna) in Winnipeg and Gregory in Belarus; and numerous nieces and nephews in Belarus. He was born on December 25, 1921 in Belarus. He came to Canada with his wife Julia in 1953 and settled in Winnipeg, where they raised their family. Walter was employed as a Power Engineer at Silverwoods and Modern Dairies. He was a kind, caring and giving person, always willing to help. He found great joy being with his grandchildren. Prayers will be held on Sunday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 17 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Cathedral Orthodox Church in America, 643 Manitoba Ave., with Very Rev. Fr. Anatoly Melnyk officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walters memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
