IVANKA GOMERCIC Peacefully on Thursday, September 13, 2001, Ivanka Gomercic, aged 53 years, passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves to mourn her husband of 34 years Vlado Gomercic; sons, Mario (Melody) and Rob (Joanne) grandchildren, Brenden, Matthieu and Danica; sister Maria Magdic from Croatia; brothers-in-law, George and his wife Ivanka, Tony and Maria Gomercic from Croatia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Antonija and father Franjo and brother Slavko. Ivanka was born in Badljevina, Croatia on November 1, 1947, coming to Canada in 1970. She was a dedicated employee of Seven Oaks Hospital for 11 years. Ivanka was an exceptionally loving person who made friends easily and loved cooking and gardening. Her family and especially her grandchildren were at the centre of her life. Her kind nature to all who knew her will be sadly missed. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses of Seven Oaks Hospital for the care they gave her during her illness. We would like to extend a special thank you to the many friends, neighbours, family members and co-workers who were so kind to Ivanka and her family. A special thank you to Barbara Pivaric and to Anica Bandel for their love and support they gave to Ivanka. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. Prayers will be held on Sunday, September 16 at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 17 at 10:00 a.m. at the Croation Catholic Church of St. Nicholas Tavelich, 2688 Main St. Interment Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Mother, wife and grandma. We will miss you dearly. You will be in our hearts forever. May you forever rest in peace.
