JUDY MACKENZIE (OTTER) 1942 - 2001 Peacefully and quietly, Judy passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2001, her soul set free from a body imprisoned by the ravages of Multiple Sclerosis. She was predeceased by her father Erling and her beloved twin sister, Patricia, who was also a victim of Multiple Sclerosis. Left to treasure her memory is her mother Doris, a source of continuing comfort and support, her son Erl, daughter Jennifer Thomson (Ian) and grandchildren, Ashley and Brenden, also Joan Sutherland her older sister and confidant. Remembering happier days are Aunt Millie West, Uncles, Oscar and Bob Otter and nieces, Laurel, Leisa, Jami and Jodi and their children, and numerous cousins. Judy was born in Yorkton but grew up in St. Vital, where she attended Glenwood and Glenlawn Schools. Of the twins Judy was the spirited one, but no one could have guessed at her inner strength and resolve to combat M.S. right up to her final days. Her happiest days were spent building and enjoying the family cottage at Bird Lake. Her final years were spent at the Tache Nursing Home, where she received excellent and loving care, and the family wishes to thank all staff, particularly Carmel, Marie and Reisa. Cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. However, commemoration will be held for family and friends at a later date, where Judys spirit will share a rum and coke. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends desire, donations may be made to the M.S. Society in Judys memory.
