DIEDRICH NEUFELD Winkler, MB April 15, 1906 - September 14, 2001 Born at Gouldtown, Sask., the only son of Jacoband Katharina Neufeld nee Penner. Entered Glory from the Boundary Trails Health Centre. Survived by his only daughter Viola; six grandchildren, Vernon, Gary and Perry Colp, Shannon, Michael and Cameron Neufeld and their spouses; two great-grandchildren, Rose Ann Colp and Brian Shillingham; as well as his sisters children. At 95 Dad had survived most of his family and friends of his generation. He was predeceased by his son Dennis in 1998, his wife Agnes in 1999, his only sister, his twin brother, three brothers in infancy and his parents. Dad was a shoemaker for 50 years, in Plum Coulee, Altona, Roland, Holland, Glenboro and Winkler. He not only repaired shoes, he made special shoes for injured feet. He repaired harness and also made harness, halters and bridles for everyday use and for show. His was an art that is now lost. Wherever Dad lived, he made lifelong friendships. His values reflected his faith in God and although the last several years were difficult health wise, he never complained. He was a wonderful father. Viewing will be held Tuesday, September 18, 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Wiebe Funeral Home, Winkler (121 8th St.) and at the church prior to the service. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the Christian Life Centre, 605 - 1st St., Morden with interment at the Winkler Cemetery. Pastors Wayne Parks of Charleswood Gospel Temple and Paul Krymusa of Christian Life Centre, officiating. Donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248 Stn.
