HELEN (LENA) THIESSEN On September 12, 2001, at Donwood Manor, Helen (Lena) Thiessen, beloved wife of Peter B. Thiessen, of Winnipeg, formerly of Winkler, died at the age of 90 years. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Bernie (Mary) of Fort St. John, BC, and John (Betty) of Waterloo, ON; three grandchildren, Vicki (Walter) Wilson of Fort St. John, Laura and Heather Thiessen of Waterloo; three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Sean and Jason; also brother John (Catherine) Redekopp of Winkler; three sisters, Tina Wiebe of Abbotsford, BC, Ann (John) Braun of Mission, BC, Nettie (Ray) Baer of Kitchener, ON, and their families. Special thanks to the staff of Donwood Manor for their special care. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. with interment in Winkler Cemetery. Viewing Sunday, September 16, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the chapel and prior to the service. Viewing also on Monday, September 17 at 2:30 p.m. at Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church.
