STANLEY GORDON BROWN 1919 - 2001 On September 13, 2001, there will be a bright new star in the heavens. Our dear husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. Stan was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Fort William. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Anne of 61 years; son Gordon (Lorraine) daughters, Lois, Susan and Patricia; also grandsons, Christopher Brown and Gordon Shaffer (Nicole) also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister Muriel; brothers, Lawrence and Wilfred. During the years of the Second World War, Stan worked at the aircraft plant in Thunder Bay, after which he joined the ranks of the C.N.R. as trainman, later as conductor. After moving the family to Transcona in 1955, continued on, retiring after 34 years. Over the years, the many friendships were made, enjoyed and truly appreciated. Stan was a member of the Khartum Temple and was secretary of Unit 101 for 14 years. Up until his failing health, many summer weekends were spent at West Hawk Lake Trailer Park. Winter was for curling at the Heather Curling Club; also, a winter holiday was always enjoyed, but it was always good to come home. Stan was a true and trusted friend. Many thanks to all who helped to care for him over the years, Dr. Sinha, Dr. Fontigny, nurses and care workers on 6A St. Boniface Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 18 at 2:00 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
