Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT (BERT) DAVENPORT It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bert, our beloved husband, father and grandfather on Saturday, September 15, 2001. Bert was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Bessie Davenport. He will be lovingly remembered by Margaret, his wife of 50 years; and their three children, Greg (Mary) of Vancouver, Glenn (Carlyn) of Winnipeg, and Barb Kalansky (Ken) of Edmonton. He also leaves to cherish his memory five grandchildren, Brett, Terra, Krystin, Erin, and Kevin; his sister Martha Snowdon; brother-in-law Bert Gregory (Marion) of Bullhead City, AZ; and many special nieces and nephews. Bert was in the Second World War and served with the First Special Service Force and later with the 48th Highlanders. He coached the boys in both hockey and Little League baseball at the East End Park in East Kildonan. Bert started a career in sales in the late 50s and held numerous sales positions with Brooke Bond, Salada Foods and McCain Foods and eventually retired in 1987 after 15 years with Canada Cup. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 20 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Our family wishes to thank the staff of both the Concordia Hospital and the Grace Hospital I.C.U.
