Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLET ROSINA SAVAGE (nee BULLOCK) Peacefully, on Sunday, September 16, 2001, Violet Savage passed away at the Lions Manor Personal Care Centre in Winnipeg. She was 95 years of age. Violet was born in Richmond Surrey, England in 1905 and moved to Canada with her family at a very young age, residing in the West End of Winnipeg. She met Richard Savage and they were wed in 1924, becoming residents of West Kildonan, where she lived for over 70 years. Violet worked for the T. Eaton Company for a number of years and she was very active in the community. She was a lifetime member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #30. She was also a member of the Daughters of the British Empire and an active member of St. Annes Anglican Church. In 1995 she moved to the Lions Manor where she resided until her passing. She was predeceased by her husband Richard, brother William, sisters, Marge and Winnie and eldest son Richard. Violet is lovingly remembered by her children, Lillian (Alexander) Matwichuk, Marion (Allan) Gray, Harry and David (Kathy) all of Winnipeg, Viola (Frank) Swonnell of Victoria, BC, William (Diane) of Regina, SK, Victor (Muriel) of Sandy Hook, MB, Robert (Marina) of Courtney, BC, George of White Rock, BC and daughter-in-law Pat, of Beaconia, MB; 28 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren who will miss her greatly. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 20 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Annes Anglican Church, 253 Burrin Ave., West Kildonan. Our family wishes to thank the staff of the Lions Manor Personal Care Centre for their care and compassion. Flowers gratefully declined. Should friends so desire, donations in Violets memory may be made to the St. Annes Church Memorial Fund or to the charity of their choice.
