OLGA GROSE Olga Grose from Rossland, BC passed away peacefully at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital on September 15, 2001 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers. Olga was born on July 12, 1919 in Poplarfield, MB. She was the eldest of 10 children. After leaving Manitoba in 1942 and arriving in Vancouver, she later moved to Rossland in 1957 where she had lived ever since. Olga was a member for 37 years with the Royal Canadian Legion No. 14. She is survived by her husband Bob; daughter Geraldine and grandson Jason; son Terry (Theresa) and granddaughter Tamara; siblings, Benny Lapka, Marusia (Mike) Ptashynk, Helen Skrabyk, Susie Lotecki, Lovey (Wally) Wachniak, Joe (Carol) Lapka, Doreen Sudletsky, and Michael (Janet) Lapka; and numerous nephews and nieces. Olga was predeceased by her parents and brother Myroslaw, and by her first husband Doug in 1966. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 20 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Andrews United Church, Rossland, BC, with Rev. Kent Israel officiating. Cremation to follow. Donations made to the Mater Misericordiae Health Care Facility, 1961 Georgia, Rossland, BC V0G 1Y0, or to the St. Andrews United Church, Box 277, Rossland, BC V0G 1Y0 in Olgas name would be appreciated by the family.
