HAROLD LEONARD JULIUS HOPKE Courageously and peacefully Harold Hopke passed away on Monday, September 17, 2001 at the Health Science Centre. He was predeceased by his parents, brother George, sister Dorothy and brother Charlie. Harold will be remembered by his sisters, Elsie, Helen, Marjorie, brothers, Ron (Arlene) and Ray (Pattie), his aunt Helen, as well as nieces and nephews. Harold enjoyed gardening in the summer and the hours he was able to spend at the lake. Courageously until the end Harold fought his illness. He retained his sense of humour until the last and we will remember him for his many acts of kindness and love for his family. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. At Harolds request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, September, 21 at 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and a gathering of family and friends will be held in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. The family would like to thank Dr. Johnston of the Health Science Centre for his many acts of kindness throughout Harolds illness. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, donations may be made in Harolds memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7.
