MARY OMORI Peacefully on September 18, 2001 our beloved mother and grandmother Mary Kikuye Omori passed away at Fred Douglas Lodge at the age of 88 years. Mary was predeceased by her husband Charlie, granddaughter Christianne, and brother Willy. Mary is loved and survived by her daughters, Virginia and Jane; sons, Harry and Jim (Linda) grandchildren, Christopher and Aimee (Tony) and great-grandchild Cayde. Mom was fiercely independent, having raised four children herself since the passing of our father, Charlie, in 1962. She made many personal sacrifices for us in making sure we had a rich and fulfilling childhood. Mom had continued instilling good values and work ethics. Mom will be remembered by all, for being gracious, wise and insightful. Mom had a keen sense of the various stages of childhood and life and imparted this wisdom to her children. Mom had grown up in Port Alberni with her three brothers, John, Don, and Willy. After moving to Winnipeg, she married, had her family and worked at the Childrens Hospital as a dietary aide. After retiring she would swim with her friends at Sherbrook Pool and also took up painting and microwave cooking. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting until her sight made it too difficult. The family would like to thank the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge for the warm and friendly care they gave Mom. We would also like to express great appreciation to uncles John and Don (Maude) for always being there. REST IN PEACE MOM Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home on Saturday, September 22 at 1:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held Monday at Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME 220 HESPELER AT HENDERSON HWY. 668-3151
