ROSARIO ARDITA Suddenly on Thursday, September 20, 2001, Rosario Ardita, aged 73 years, dearly beloved husband of Nunziata Ardita, peacefully entered into eternal rest, at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. Rosario leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 54 years of marriage, Nunziata; and their children, Caterina DiVito (Nino), Maria Palumbo (Joe), Giuseppe Ardita (Leonora), Antonino Ardita (Doris), Salvatore Ardita (Grazia), Elena Principe (Eugenio), and Anna Leinhaas (Mike) as well as their grandchildren, Enzo DiVito (Fina), Grazia Palumbo, Carmelo Palumbo (Sherri), Rosario DiVito, Daniele DiVito, Nunziata Ardita, Nicoletta Ardita, Adeline Principe, Francesco Principe, Natalina Ardita, Rosario Ardita, Cristina Ardita, Simona Ardita, Sonia Ardita, Laura Ardita, Nickolas Leinhaas; and their great-grandchild Silvano Palumbo. His memory will also be forever cherished by his brother Salvatore Ardita (Tindera) his sister Ottavia Perielli (Gabriele) of Italy; his sisters, Maria DAntonio (Giuseppe), Elena Carota (Luigi), Romana Castellano (and the late Pietro), Marcela Russo (Enzo) of Winnipeg; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Rosario was born in Catania, Sicily, Italy. He worked for Fontana, as a foreman, in Messina, Italy for 35 years. For a better life he immigrated with his family to Winnipeg in 1970. Thereafter, in Winnipeg, Rosario worked for Westmacott for 15 years, then for Bristol Aerospace, retiring in 1991. His passion was his garden, and his charming sense of humour, and the love he showed for his grandchildren, will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Prayers will be said at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24, also at the church, with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano, V.F. presiding. Entombment will follow in the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, at Assumption Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Enzo DiVito, Carmelo Palumbo, Rosario DiVito, Daniele DiVito, Alberto Castellano, and Andrea Russo.
