Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER KOWALL Peter Kowall, beloved husband of Victoria, passed away peacefully at the Brandon Assiniboine Centre on Sunday, September 2, 2001 at the age of 86 years. Peter was born at Bonne Mador, SK, on August 11, 1915, son of Kiryk and Barbara Kowall. One of seven brothers living on a Saskatchewan farm, Peter was raised and educated in the Tarnapol area. During his early life he had been employed with the CNR as well as in logging camps in northern Manitoba. In 1944 he married Victoria Mazur. They farmed in Tarnapol, then moved to Bowsman, MB, and finally to Brandon in 1958. Peter continued his years of employment in Brandon as well as farmed in the south Brandon district from 1966 until 1997. Peter was employed with the City of Brandon prior to his retirement in 1980. He was an active member of the St. Marys Ukrainian Catholic Church. He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife, Victoria; two sons; two daughters; and eight grandchildren, Dennis (Lynda) of Brandon and their children, Cheryl (Dean) Chaykowski, Robert (Jill) Vicky (Collin) Walker of Dauphin and their children, Andrew and Kristine; Victor (Lisa Davies) of Brandon and his children, Jennifer and Karen and one great-granchild, Nolan; Liz (Craig) Lobban of Tyndall, MB, and their children, Amanda and Brennan. Peter is survived by two brothers, Joe (Jean) of Port Hope, ON, and Edward (Alice) of Benito, MB. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Peter was predeceased by one infant daughter Emily; his parents, Kiryk and Barbara; four brothers, Bill, Alec, Eugene, Mero and one infant sister Annie. The Ceremony of Christian Burial was celebrated at Memories Chapel, 330-18th St. North on Friday, September 7, with Rev. Fr. Kevin Smith of St. Augustines Roman Catholic Church celebrant. Pallbearers were Collin Walker, Craig Lobban, Robert Kowall, Andrew Walker, Orest Kowall and Robert Irvin. Interment followed at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Friends who wish may make a donation, in memory of Peter, to a charity of their choice. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
