CHRISTOPHER DAVID (MONTGOMERY) RIDSDALE February 16, 1977 - September 16, 2001 On a beautiful, sunny afternoon last week, our much loved and dear son, Christopher, achieved a dream of his by conquering the summit of Fisher Peak near his home in Cranbrook, BC. He lost his life in a tragic fall shortly after he began his descent. Chris will be loved, remembered and missed forever by his parents, Alison Ruth Montgomery and Gary David Ridsdale, his stepfather Tom Fraser, his stepmother Cathy Ross-Ridsdale, his sister Nicolette and his brothers, Andrew and Jesse. He will also be deeply missed by his grandparents, David and Edith Ridsdale, Eldon and Carol Ross, Mercedes Montgomery and Nora Fraser, and his great-grandmother Tina Cheveldayoff. He was predeceased by his grandfather Albert W. Montgomery and his stepgrandfather Murray Fraser. His many aunts, uncles and cousins also mourn his passing. He also leaves his best friend and the love of his life, Beth Nahorniak, as well as her family and his many, many friends and colleagues to share our deep pain in losing him and to treasure his memory. Chris was born in Saskatoon, SK and lived there until he was six, when he moved to Winnipeg, MB. He attended Bannatyne Elementary School and Silver Heights Junior High until the fall of 1991 when he moved to White Rock, BC where he attended Earl Marriott High School. In November of 1994 he moved back to Saskatoon and finished his secondary education at Walter Murray Collegiate, graduating in June of 1995. He attended the University of Saskatchewan for two years before he started working full time as a computer consultant. He was hired by Shaw@Home in 1998 as a customer service technician, and quickly moved into sales. He accepted a promotion and transfer to Cranbrook, BC in July of 2000 and was working and living there at the time of his death. His untimely passing leaves an immeasurable void not only in the hearts and lives of his family, but also with his numerous friends, many of whom were involved in the search for our son. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to those volunteers of the Search and Rescue who tirelessly looked for him on the mountain, the R.C.M.P. who assisted in the recovery and especially to Cst. Vince Hammer and his police dog Max, who found Chris for us. In Chris memory and to assist others, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Cranbrook Search and Rescue, in care of No. 1 Firehall, 37 - 11th Ave. S., Cranbrook, BC V1C 2N9.
