Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMETRO SAPISCHUK Peacefully, on Wednesday, September 19, 2001, after a courageous battle with cancer, Metro went to join our Lord. He was born in Sandy Lake, MB and moved to Winnipeg in the 1950s. He was employed as a diesel mechanic with Standard Limestone Quarries for many years. He married his wife Anne in 1962 and they made the North End their home. Even after retiring, Metros expertise with heavy machinery kept him in steady demand at numerous shops around the city. He loved to tinker in his garage and work in his yard and was always willing to lend a hand whenever he was needed. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 40 years, Anne; son Joseph (Teresa) and many relatives throughout Manitoba. Many thanks to Riverview Health Centre for their kind and compassionate care, Father Christopher Zajac, OSBM, Father Isidore Dziadyk, OSBM, Lorne J. Brandis, MD, and John A. Kreml, MD. Special thanks to: Michael Johnson and Terry Kasian from Hospice & Palliative Care Manitoba and Agnes and Joe Wodziki for their care and support. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, September 221 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman with Rev. Fr. Athanasius McVay officiating.
