DOROTHY SHIRLEY GOLDENBERG (ALTMAN) It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing at home, of Dorothy, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, on Sunday, September 16, 2001 at age 78. The funeral service was held at Rosh Pina Memorial Park on Monday, September 17, 2001. Dorothy was predeceased by her first husband Dave Altman, parents, Charles and Fay Zilz and brothers Woody and Joe. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Mel; daughters, Carol (Bob) and Geri and son Larry; step-daughter Heather (Pat) step-sons, Murray and Perry (Brenda) and grandchildren, Corey (Stacy), Joe, Frances, Samyra, Ayla, Laurel (Tim), Ben, Shoshana and great-grandchildren, Olivia, Amanda and Ashley; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews and friends. Dorothy lived in Winnipeg most of her life. She took great pride in her home and in her family. She will always be remembered for her gracious hospitality and her deep caring of everyone. Dorothy was a talented and creative knitter, sewer, and her needlepoint graces the walls of her home. She loved golf, bridge, mahjong, walking, country drives, travel, friend and family gatherings. The family would like to extend our special thanks to the Palliative Unit (St. Boniface Hospital) and Home Care Programs, Dr. Simkin, Dr. Daeninck and the many Health Care Assistants and Nurses.
