RUBY ROBB Peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001 at the Grace General Hospital, Ruby Robb passed away at the age of 88 years. Ruby was born on April 10, 1913 on Jessie Avenue and lived most of her life on Walker Avenue in Fort Rouge. She was very devoted to her family and cared for her parents Sara and John McCurdy and brother Jack McCurdy until their deaths. She was also predeceased by her husband David in 1970; her brother Bob McCurdy; sister Claris Dickinson; and grandson Gerald Robb. Ruby is survived by two sons, David (Debbie) of Winnipeg, Barry (Deanna) of Victoria, BC; a sister Helen (Tom) of Winnipeg; also by her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ruby was a talented seamstress and for many years sewed beautiful clothing for her family. Her family also remember her delicious fudge, toffee and scotch shortbread. She worked for many years at the Winnipeg Auditorium and then at the Junior League Thrift Shop. A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, September 25 at 1:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. The family wish to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Charleswood Care Centre for their loving care they gave to our mother in the past two years.
