LAURA LEE HEBERT (nee NAVITKA) It is with great sadness that Nicole and Don announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mommy and wife at the age of 39 years after a lengthy battle with diabetes. At the St. Boniface Hospital on September 21, 2001, with her whole family by her side, Laura left us to be at rest. Laura was born on June 21, 1962 and grew up in Vermette, MB. She and Don married on September 20, 1986 and after receiving a kidney from her special Auntie Phyllis in 1991, they had a beautiful baby girl (Nicole) in 1993. They moved to Lac du Bonnet in 1996. Laura loved living in Lac du Bonnet, especially the people. Laura got immense pleasure from working with the kids at Centennial School in the last few years as a volunteer, then in the last year, went on to be a full time Teachers Assistant. Laura also enjoyed being with her family and friends. As well as Don and Nicole, Laura is survived by her parents, Judy and Zennie Navitka, sister Connie, brother Doug (Gaetane), Grandma Murphy, along with four nieces and two nephews, along with godparents, Ronny Danners and Colleen Bayrak. And last but not least, dearest Pops in whom Laura held close to her heart, and numerous other family and friends. Laura is now at peace and suffers no more. She touched many people in her shortened life. She will always be remembered as a kind and gentle person who thought of others before herself. We love and miss you so very much and well never forget you. Flowers are gratefully declined, instead donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9. Special thanks to the staff on 5B at St. Boniface Hospital. Prayers will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Funeral service will also be held at Desjardins Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27. A private family interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date. Honorary pallbearers, Connie, Doug, Cookie, Sue, Gerry, Jean, Aime, Rachel, Darlene.
