She was predeceased by her father Alexander Dickson; her mother Mary Dickson; and her sister Anne Jones. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, Raymond; daughter Susan (Greg) Wardell; sons, John (Nellie) and Roger Pattimore; grandchildren, Alison, Keith, Kirsten, and Rachel; sister Jean Megill; as well as several nieces; nephews; and cousins. Dorothy was born in Wilmar, SK, third daughter of Alexander and Mary. She graduated from High School in Arcola, SK, and went on to complete her secondary education in Regina. She was later employed as a stenographer there. She met her future husband Raymond when he was stationed in Moose Jaw. They became engaged and she travelled to Taunton, Somerset, England, where they were married on February 25, 1946. While in England their first child, Susan, was born. In 1948 they returned to Canada and settled in Winnipeg where they were blessed with two sons, John and Roger. They lived in the same home for 52 years before moving to the Charleswood Care Centre. Dorothy was a loving and caring wife and mother. She was the consummate homemaker with many exceptional attributes; cooking, baking, and sewing. She diligently helped her family in their every endeavour. She enjoyed her many years with the Deer Lodge Mixed Bowling League, and was active with the Deer Lodge United Church Womens Group, Unit 7. She loved to camp, and accompanied her family on many vacations and day excursions. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and neighbours. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 28, at 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre.
