Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEVE SWERDYLIAK Suddenly on September 23, 2001, Steve Swerdyliak, at the age of 65, passed away at the farm, doing what he loved the most. He was predeceased by his mother, Kasandra in 1995, his father John in 1963, his brothers, Alex in 1988, George in 1986, and Matt in 1999. He is survived by his wife Agnes, his sons, John and Vincent (Eileen) and his grandchildren, Tyler, Derek, and Mason; daughter Stephanie; and sons, Danny and Donald. He is also survived by his brother Nick of Winnipeg; and sisters, Dora Burick of Bowsman, MB and Ann Mysko (Edward) of Stornaway, SK; and his sister-in-law Winnifred Swerdyliak. He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. Born in Grande Pointe, MB, he grew up on the family farm. Steve loved the land and growing things, especially his vegetables, watermelon and cantaloupe. During the long winters, you could always find him at the curling rink. He was an avid curler in his younger years and commentator on every game. And every Sunday morning for many years, he would enjoy the companionship of friends around his table. His spirit and presence will be missed. Honorary pallbearers will be Cearer Roeland, Bill Kewesiga, Joe Leclaire, Bernie Snezyk, Kenny Swerdyliak, and Ed Zylema. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 26 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint).
