Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDR. VICTOR J. HAGEN, M.D. Born in Winnipeg, November 10, 1918, "Vic" or "Doc" to his friends, passed away September 21, 2001 in Vancouver, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers. A graduate of University of Manitoba, Doc practiced medicine 40 years in Winnipeg. His care, thoughtfulness, and good humour will be greatly missed by many. Docs passion for soccer included playing and working in the Manitoba and Canadian Associations and as past president/life member of the Canadian Soccer Association. Predeceased by wife Florence, he leaves behind to remember him his son Terry, daughter-in-law Linda, and many close relatives, friends and patients. To the special people of Norwood, where Doc lived for his whole professional life, heartfelt thanks for your friendship and support over the years. To the Banfield Pavillion staff, thanks for two years of special care. To the Yaletown House staff, there are not enough words to express our gratitude. At Docs request, a private service was held in Vancouver, with interment to be later in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations to Yaletown House Foundation, 1099 Cambie St., Vancouver, BC V5B 5A8, or The Canadian Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.

Dr. Hagen was my god-father and he and Flo were my grandparents best friends. I lost contact with Doc Vic when he moved to B.C. and I am so sorry I did not know he had passed away back in 2001. He was such a nice man, he was my doctor as well as my god-father and we enjoyed a special bond. Doc Vic was always generous with a special "gift" at Christmas and my birthday, usually something personal that showed he and Flo were thinking about me, I still remember the beautiful birthstone ring he bought me for my 12th or 14th birthday! That was many years ago so I don't remember which year but the ring was so pretty and perfect for a young woman with her first real piece of jewellery - I still have it! I hope he was happy in B.C., being near his son. - Posted by: Jacquie Schimnowski Simpson (God-Daughter) on: Sep 28, 2017

Dr. Vic brought all 3 of my children into this world, including my twin boys. He was my family dr. but also a friend, as was Dr. Ranosky, who is my best friend's Dad. I often wondered what happened to him after he moved to B.C. and now I know. I have many good memories of him. - Posted by: Mrs.Patricia Gould nee Pydee (patient and friend of my family) on: Aug 27, 2013
