WALTER EGBERT HUNT On Thursday, September 27, 2001, Walter passed away and went to his eternal resting place, at the age of 81 years. Walter was born on October 10, 1919 in St. Vincent, West Indies, Caribbean. He worked in the Sanitation Department for the Government of St. Vincent for 35 years. He came to Canada with his wife Ione and youngest son Elvis in 1983. Here he worked as a janitor for 15 years. GOD CALLED YOU HOME I have lost my lifes companion A life linked with my own Day by day Ill pray for you As Ill walk through life alone. It broke my heart to lose you But you did not go alone For part of me went with you The day God called you home. Walter leaves to cherish his memory his wife Ione, of 50 years of marriage; his nine children, Lily Ellison, Jasmine Hunt, and Elvis Hunt, Winnipeg, MB; Stella Emmons and Veltie Brown, U.S.A.; Cheryl, Claudette, Vesta Hunt, and son Hudnell Hunt, St. Vincent; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Edron Hunt in 1967. Relatives and friends may call for viewing on Tuesday evening, October 2, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojciks All Beliefs & Faiths Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Ave. at Sharp Boulevard. Walters funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 3, at 11:00 a.m. in the Bible Church of God, 51 Richfield Ave., Winnipeg, MB, with Pastors M. W. Chambers and C. Layne officiating. Interment will follow in Garry Memorial Park, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walters memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Winnipeg & District Branch, Canada, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
