Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEFFIE KETCHIN November 7, 1900 - September 26, 2001 Effie Ketchin, nee Lamb, widow of the late John Ketchin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 26, 2001 at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre, where she resided since 1993. Effie was born in Watford, Lambton Co., Ontario. She was 100 years of age. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1985; her sister Mary Lamb Gibson; and her cousin Margerite Gallant in February, 1995. Effie and John had many wonderful holidays together in many different parts of the world. One outstanding trip was to Scotland to Dalmahoy, where John and his brothers and sister and parents lived before coming to Canada. She was a long time active member of St. Giles United Church and Crescent Fort Rouge United Church and the United Church Womens Group. Effie also enjoyed her time spent at the St. Johns Seniors Club. Effie is survived by cousins Dennis and Dale Gallant and their families and niece Thelma Paterson. Thanks to Patti Baker for all her caring help when Effie lost her best friend John and in all the years since. Thanks to visitors from Crescent Fort Rouge Church and the gifts to Effie. Also many thanks to Larry, Ken and Bob Wiens for all their weekly visits to Effie. Many thanks for the tender, loving care given Effie by all the care givers at Kildonan Personal Care Centre and also the volunteers who were so helpful. Effie thanks you all with a great big smile. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2001 at 4:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Pat Wotton of Crescent Fort Rouge Church officiating. Interment will follow in Old Kildonan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Jim Paterson, Jamie Paterson, Colin Paterson, Rey Lauze, Dennis Gallant, Craig Gallant and Tom Baker. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Effies memory to a charity of ones choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements - 586-8044.
