ELIZABETH (BETTY) BROWN CALDER BARNETT Betty (nee Abercrombie) Barnett, aged 74 years, of Grandview, MB, passed away September 19, 2001, at Dauphin Regional Health Centre, surrounded by her family. Surviving to mourn Bettys untimely death are her children, David (Darlene) Barnett of Grandview, Joy Jubenvill of Gilbert Plains, Sandra (Vern) Ross of Hinton, AB, Maureen (Ron) Myers of Grandview, Sherry (Don) Playford of Norway House, Barb (Jerry) Myers of Grandview, Tannis (Richard) Lobert of Grandview, Thelma (Doug) Hanson of Pine Falls; 23 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Surviving as well are Bettys siblings, one brother Don (Mary Ann) Abercrombie of Sherwood Park, AB; four sisters, June (Arnold) Topham of Spruce Grove, AB, Margaret (Alex) Morran of Grandview, Wilda (Glen) Kydd of Grandview, Sheena Drinkwater and Oril of Edmonton; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Abercrombie of Fort Saskatchewan, Ina Clyde of Grandview, Della Barnett of Calgary; as well as her extended family. Betty was predeceased by parents, William and Isabella Abercrombie; husband Jack Barnett; infant daughter Charlene; infant granddaughters, Jody and Carla Barnett; son-in-law Joe Jubenvill; brother David Abercrombie; sister and brother-in-law Isabel and Bruce Clark; brother-in-law George Drinkwater. Funeral service was held Saturday, September 22 at 2:00 p.m. from Grandview United Church, with Kathleen Taylor and Ilene Dowd officiating. Dawn of Peace Rebekah Lodge No. 60, Grandview, conducted a Memorial Tribute. Casket bearers were Bettys grandsons, Kyle Barnett, Jeff Jubenvill, Kevin Ross, Clinton Myers, Mark Brash, Scott Myers, Corey Lobert, Owen Hanson. All of Bettys grandchildren and great-grandchildren formed the Honour Guard. Interment was at the family plot in Grandview District Cemetery. Should friends so desire, memorial donations in memory of Betty may be made to a charity of ones choice, or the family asks that you plant a tree or a flower in a special place in their Moms memory.
