MARY PENNER It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of one incredible woman, mother and grandmother, Mary Penner. After a courageous battle with cancer, Mom passed away peacefully in the presence of her boys into the arms of our Lord to be reunited with Dad after so many years. Moms legacy will live on through her four boys and their families. Don (Bev), children, Sheri and Wayne; Barry (Elizabeth), children, Jon, James, David; Dale (Linda), children, Jordan and Brianna; Dave (Karin), children, Lindsay and Scott; and numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Henry on February 3, 1959; and her brothers, Henry (1983) and Peter (1989). She leaves to survive her sisters, Anne Schroeder, Katie Klippenstein, Beth Kathler and her brother Cornie Penner. Mary was born on May 18, 1921 in Steinau, Russia and moved to Canada in 1926. The family settled in Oak Lake in 1939 where they farmed. The funeral service will be held at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Ave. on Tuesday, October 2 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at 3:30 p.m. at Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MB. Special thanks to the many wonderful people at the Cancer Care Clinic and the St. Boniface Hospital. Flowers are respectfully declined. Donations may be made in her memory to the CancerCare Manitoba, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 9Z9 or the Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Dr., Winnipeg, MB, R3T 5K9.
