HELEN KROEKER (nee BARKMAN) 1929 - 2001 Peacefully at her home in Steinbach, surrounded by family, on Thursday, September 27, 2001, Helen Kroeker passed away at the age of 72 years. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 22 years, Abe D. and her four children, Irma Friesen, Bert (Alice) Kroeker, Bonnie (Isaac) Derksen, Dave (Doris) Kroeker; grandchildren, Paula (Rick) Kornelson, Pam (Jeff) Toews, Jeremy Kroeker, Stu Kroeker, Gabe (Katrina) Derksen, Deidre (John) McIntyre, Ian Kroeker, Jordan Kroeker, Landon Kroeker, Kaitlin Kroeker; two great-granddaughters, Dana and Jenna Kornelson; four sisters, one brother and their spouses and a host of dear friends. A viewing will take place on Sunday, September 30 between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m., at Loewen Funeral Chapel in Steinbach and at the church prior to the service. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 1 at 2:00 p.m., in the Evangelical Mennonite Church, 420 Main St., Steinbach with Pastor Arden Thiessen officiating. Interment will follow in the Heritage Cemetery. Donations in the memory of Helen Kroeker may be made to E.M.C. Board of Missions or World Vision.
