MAXIMA "MIMAY" O. ABINAL Peacefully on Friday, September 28, 2001, at the Seven Oaks Hospital, our beloved "Lola", and Mama Mimay passed away at the age of 82. Mama Mimay was the loving mother of Slave Murillo (Joe) of Canada, Salvame "Trining" Lorico (Larry), Salomon Abinal (Fely), and Sherwin Abinal (Virgie), all of The Philippines. Lola was the much cherished, and caring grandmother of Glenn, Grant, Grace, Daisy, Janis (Canada) Raymond, Reynalyn, Christza, Maryssa, Relc, Andre, Michael, Sherilyn, Jerwin, Sheribeth, Sherwin Jr. (Don-Don), Walter, and Wilfred of The Philippines; and a loving great-grandmother to Alyssa Kiara. Maxima will also be very sadly missed by her numerous relatives and friends in Bicol, and Manila, The Philippines, Seattle, U.S.A., and here in Canada. Mama Mimay was predeceased by her husband Engracio, son Salvador, daughter Maria Santa, father Victor, mother Agustina, brother Pedro, and sister Cresenciana. She was born on Monday, January 27, 1919 in San Ramon, Nabua, Camarines Sur, The Philippines, and immigrated to Canada in 1979. She was an active member of the Bicol Association of Manitoba and the Penafrancia Prayer Group. Lamay will be held on Wednesday, October 3 and Thursday, October 4 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight) both nights; prayers at 9:00 p.m. Wednesday; at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 5 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward The Confessor Roman Catholic Church, 818 Arlington St., Rev. Fr. Joseph Arckal presiding. Interment will take place at a later date in The Philippines. Thank you to all who visited and comforted her during difficult times. Special thanks to the Seven Oaks General Hospital staff for their wonderful care and compassion, as well as to Irene Legaspi (special friend of the family), thank you from the bottoms of our hearts for all of your help and concern.
