Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMORLEY GARFIELD ACKERMAN It is with deep sorrow that our family announces the sudden death of our dad, grandpa and great-grandfather, Morley Garfield Ackerman, on Saturday, September 29, 2001 at his residence at the age of 75 years, although he always claimed he was only 19 years old. Dad is survived by his children, Brenda, David (Sandy), Sandra (Rod), Patricia (Ken) and Bill (Lenore) 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sister Anne (Perry) brothers, Gary and Roy; as well as many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Olive May (1997), mother Florence, father Wilbert, stepfather Russell and sister Judy. Morley was born in Waterville, PQ on July 29, 1926. He joined the Navy in 1943 and served overseas until 1945. He began working for the Winnipeg Free Press in 1948 and worked 42 years as a compositor, retiring in 1990. Dad was involved with numerous community services at the Northwood and Sturgeon Creek Community Centres. He was an active member for 50 years of the Royal Canadian Legion, St. James Branch #4 and was the Honorary President of the I.W.V.A. Dads hobbies included crossword books, bingo, rug hooking and bowling. Dads funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 6 at 11:00 a.m., in Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Ave., at Belvidere Street. Our family wishes to thank everyone involved who stood by and helped us through this terrible ordeal in our life. Though his presence is gone forever and his hands we cannot touch, still we have so many memories of the one we loved so much. His memory is our keepsake With which we will never part God has him in His keeping, We have him in our hearts.
