Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN (KAY) MURIEL COUCH (Nee WINDER) Peacefully on Friday, September 28, 2001, Kathleen Couch, aged 95 years, passed away at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home. Kay will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews and their families; Patricia and John, Jim and Faith, Ralph and Valerie, Robert and Grace, Ron and Eveline and Betty. She was predeceased by her husband Alvin, her parents, Mary and Henry Winder, her brother Robert, her sisters, Hazel and Charlotte and her niece Brucelle. Kay was born and raised in Norwood. She attended Normal School gaining her teachers certificate in 1928. She married Alvin in 1931, and moved to Swan Lake balancing her time working on the farm and substitute teaching. During these busy years on the farm, she always found time to be very active in the community of Swan Lake. In later years she taught E.S.L. to a number of foreign students. When time permitted she enjoyed travelling. She travelled to Alaska, Mexico and several countries overseas including England, Thailand, Australia and China. She met and acquired many good friends throughout these years. Sincere appreciation is expressed to the nursing staff at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home for their gentle care and attention to her needs. A service of remembrance for family will take place on Thursday, October 4 at 2:00 p.m. in Knox United Church, 400 Edmonton St., with Rev. Eleanor Geib officiating. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cathedral Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Kathleen Couch may be made to the charity of your choice. No happy time that passes is ever really gone If it leaves a special memory for looking back upon. Your memories are our keepsakes from which we will never part; God has you in His keeping but we have you in our hearts. Auntie Kay you were an important part of our lives and we will miss you.
