Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBELLA SENESHEN (nee KOSTASCHUK) 1918 - 2001 Peacefully, after a long and courageous battle with diabetes, Bella passed away on September 30, 2001, at the Fort Garry Care Centre. Bella leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 64 years, Michael; her sons, Lorne (Carole), Ben (Margaret), Ivan (Chris) and her daughter Gloria (Grant). Bella is also survived by her grandchildren, Deborah, Susan, Kim, Kelly, Garrett, and Nicole, in addition to four great-grandchildren; her brother Bill; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Eli and Dora Kostachuk; sisters, Mary, Annie, and Kay; brothers, John, Pete, and George. Bella was born in Insinger, SK in 1918 and she and Michael were married in Insinger in 1937 where they farmed and started to raise a family. Bella and Michael moved their family to Winnipeg in 1952. Bellas first commitment was to her family and she was always quick with a smile. In addition to being a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, Bella was a great cook who enjoyed entertaining and spending time with family and friends. No one was a stranger to Bella and no one left her table wanting more. Bella also found the time to enjoy a career at the Holiday Inn and was a gifted musician who took great pride in the records she made singing with the Primrose Trio Band. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on October 2, at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church (Grant and Harrow). A memorial service and interment will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Bellas memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0S6. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
