Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryZOE VLASSIS June 8, 1923 - September 29, 2001 Zoe was born and lived in Winnipeg all of her life. It was a special place for her. She attended the University of Manitoba where she received a degree in music. While there she performed with the Light Opera Society and won awards for drama. Her awards were proudly displayed on her piano where she enjoyed many hours playing and singing her favourite songs. For many years she taught music and drama to many talented young artists. Many remained life long friends. Zoe was always very interested and proud of the activities, the pursuits and studies of her nephew and nieces and got particular enjoyment in following the progress of her seven grand-nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister Virginia Lucas (Vlassis) brother-in-law Nick, nephew Edmund (Chrisoula), nieces, Nicolette (Michael Flemming), and Lisa (Jay McKinnell). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Funeral services will be held at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway on Thursday, October 4 at 2:30 p.m. A private family interment will take place in Brookside Cemetery.
