RUTH EVELYN BUSHBY (JOHNSON) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ruth Evelyn, with her family at her side on October 1, 2001. She will be always be remembered and lovingly missed by her daughters, Joy and Colleen (Tom) grandchildren, Jim (Mary), Corie (Al) great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Jesssica, Chantelle, Shane, Jimmy, Tracy and Ashley; brothers-in-law, Harry and Ken; seven nieces two nephews and one grand-nephew. She was predeceased by her husband Jack; mother Hilda; father Fred; sisters, Nellie, June, Joy, Rhea and baby brother Lowell. Ruth was born April 3, 1914 in Duluth, Minnesota, and moved to Winnipeg with her family as a young girl. She was a long time resident of Morse Place, Winnipeg. Ruth will always be remembered as a loving, kind, gentle, generous, warm person. Words are not enough to describe how much she was loved and how much she will be missed. Our mom had a wonderful attitude about living life to its fullest. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her great-grandchildren, family and friends. She loved listening to music, watching her great-grandchildren, travelling to go and see the sights and try to win a little more money. She enjoyed everything that life offered and complained about nothing. Even in hospital, when she was in pain, she didnt want to bother the nurses because they were too busy. She fought a long and courageous battle to be with her family for as long as she could. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation for the wonderful, kind staff on 3 west at Concordia Hospital. All who met her said they have been extremely fortunate to meet such a wonderful person - she was one of a kind. A celebration of Ruths life will be held at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Highway on Thursday, October 4 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Thank you for a long, wonderful life together. We will meet again in the Garden. Rest in peace, you deserve it. We love you. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • The world lost the most beautiful person there ever was. She was kind, gentle, caring, loving, just a perfect soul. I am so blessed to have had her as my gramma cause she made this world a better place. Just to be with her made you feel special. I will never forget all she did for me to make my life better. And I will be forever changed because of her. Simply the Best there ever was. May she be eating strawberries in heaven with her mom.
