ALICE LUCIE DUGAS (nee DELAQUIS) Born on September 11, 1927, in Notre Dame de Lourdes, MB, Alice passed away at the St-Boniface General Hospital on October 1, 2001, in the spirit of great love. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Gerard; her parents, Pierre and Marie (Fauchere) her brothers, Robert, Maurice, Marcel, Charles; and her sister Clementine (Baron). She leaves to mourn her son Norman and wife Nicole and their children, Annick, Christian, Sarah, Kalliane; her daughter Christiane and son Gerard; her daughter Lorraine and husband Charles and their children, Liliane, Francine, and Martin; her brothers, Gabriel (Henriette), and Ernest (Antoinette) her sister Liliane; three other sisters-in-law, Annette, Florina, and Marilyn; as well as several nephews and nieces. All those who were fortunate to meet Alice were struck by her humour, her magnetism, her joie de vivre, her free spirit; everyone will remember the flash of her camera and her globe-trotting Westphalia. A true pioneer, she always forged ahead with the courage of her convictions. Her openness, her thirst for knowledge, her love of communication and her great humanitarian spirit made Alice a truly exceptional woman. To celebrate her life, a gathering will be held on Friday, October 5, at the St-Boniface Cathedral starting at 2:00 p.m. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to all the staff in the Palliative Care Unit of the St-Boniface Hospital, with a special note of gratitude to the nurses for their loving tenderness and sense of humour. Alice dearly wished that all could be as well supported throughout their lives as she was by family, friends and caregivers. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a humanitarian organization such as Lighthouse Mission or Jocelyn House. Arrangements by Voyage Funeral Home, 284-7500.
