KENNETH BRIAN McKAY Suddenly on Tuesday, October 2, 2001, Kenneth Brian McKay passed away in Selkirk, at the age of 43. Ken was born in Selkirk on September 8, 1958. He was predeceased by his mother Isabel, his father John, and his brother Lionel. He leaves to mourn his passing his brothers, Charles of Winnipeg, and George of Selkirk; and many dear friends who will cherish his memory. Ken worked for Amesco for 20 years. He started there shortly after turning 18 and worked in various positions until settling in by the ovens. Ken always had an in-depth interest in music and the arts and spent many an hour with his albums or discussing films and plays. Anyone who knew Ken has heard him demanding a "Neil Young song" from the local bands! Ken spent his life being a responsible son and brother who always cared for his family. "Grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change: Courage to change the things I can; and the Wisdom to know the difference." The fight is over, Be at Peace Ken. Flowers are respectfully declined. In lieu, donations may be made to the Alcohol Foundation of Manitoba in Kens memory. Funeral service will be held on Friday (today) at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, with interment to follow in the St. Peters Cemetery.
