EVA MARGARET JOHNS It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eva Margaret Johns, in her 91st year, on Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at River East Personal Care Home, Winnipeg, MB. She was predeceased by her loving husband Leonard in 1957, mother Edith Campbell, father Normal Campbell, sister Isabell and brother Cecil. Eva will be sadly missed by her loving daughter Darlene (Les) Thompson, and two grandsons, Len and John, of Winnipeg; one sister Marion (Bert) Gove of Medicine Hat, AB; sister-in-law Vi Gotts of Keewatin, ON; several nieces and nephews in British Columbia and Alberta; many relatives in England; and numerous friends. Eva was a longtime resident of the Keewatin-Kenora district. She was born on July 27, 1910 in Keewatin, ON. She married Leonard Johns on September 25, 1937 and moved to Kenora. After Lens death and 54 years in Kenora (334 3rd St. N.), she moved to Winnipeg. Eva was employed at Monarch Life Assurance Co. Office Winnipeg (1929), Lake of the Woods Milling Co. Keewatin (1929 - 1939), and the Ministry of Education Kenora (1961 until her retirement July 6, 1979). Eva was a member of Knox United Church (Kenora), Unit 3 Donna Club, and Lake Woodena Rebekah Lodge No. 183 (70 years). There will be a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 5 at Knox United Church, Kenora, ON. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of River East Personal Care Home, as well as special friends, Vivian, Elsie, and Janet, for their care and compassion during the past three years. A special thanks to Dr. Henry Dirks for his years of caring and support. In lieu of flowers, donations in Evas memory may be made to Knox United Church (Kenora) or John Black Church (Winnipeg).
