Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS CLARKE SOUTH Regretfully the family announces the death of Tom South who passed away at home in Vancouver Tuesday, October 2, 2001. He was born in Morden, MB November 4, 1929. He moved to Vancouver in his 20s and vowed not to return to live in the Prairie because it was too flat and nothing to see. For many years he worked in the maintenance department at the Vancouver International Airport. Tom enjoyed curling, shooting snooker, cycling and playing bridge, especially with friends at the Marpole Curling Club. He enjoyed nothing better than curling in as many bonspiels as possible. The favourite object of his affection was his full bent curved stem pipe which he smoked incessantly. he was a member of St. Stephens United Church, Vancouver for many years. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Jackie South in Oakbank, MB; nephews, Jim and John; niece Janet Macdonald and grandniece Brittany, and many cousins. There is one special friend through the years Earl Marshall. There will be a memorial service Monday, October 8 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephens United Church, Granville Street. Flowers are gratefully declined. Interment will take place at a later date in Morden, MB.
