OLLIE GRENKOW (nee WOZNIAK) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Ollie, age 82, on October 4, 2001 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Ollie was predeceased by her husband Daniel in 1957 and later by her father Martin, mother Mary and brother Edward. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother she will be remembered by her children, Ron (Jean), Bryne (Dorothy) and Karen (Lawrence) grandchildren, Daniel, Kim, Bonnie and Mandy and her great-grandchildren, Jessica and Chelsea; brother Alf (Myrtle) and sister Helen and their families. Born in Winnipeg in 1918, Mom attended Isaac Newton School, where she graduated. She met and married Danny in 1940 and together they began their family. Life was full of family and friends and he soon formed his Home Decorating Company. Too soon Danny passed away. Mom went back to work and after many years at Ashdowns and United Cigar Stores she retired at the age of 68. Mom was the centre of our family. We came to her with our problems and gained from her strength, independence and patient manner. She began many traditions which drew our family together several times a year, no matter where we were in our lives. And she loved to watch the little ones as they learned to walk and talk. Many summer days were spent at Otter Falls, telling stories, playing cards and just being together. These memories, and the loving sparkle in her eyes will be treasured always. Many thanks to family and friends for their comforting words and visits and especially to the nurses and staff of Unit 4 on the Fifth Floor at Seven Oaks Hospital. Cremation has taken place and a quiet service will be held at Brookside Cemetery at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 9. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
