Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALAN WILLIAM DALES It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Alan Dales, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather on October 4, 2001 at the age of 73 years. Alan was born January 19, 1928 in Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his parents, James Dales on April 12, 1950 and Mabel on March 16, 1988. Left to cherish his memory, loving wife Daisy of 46 years; beloved children, Beryl (Peter) Majorow, Ian (April), Kevin (Laura), Cindy (Charles) DAoust, Lesley (Jordan) Van Vliet; sister Donna (John) Duncan; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild as well as many relatives and countless friends. Alan worked with Manitoba Hydro as an Electrical Engineer for 42 years until his retirement in June of 1993. He was a Hononary Life Member and Past President of the Deer Lodge Curling Club, a Visiting Elder of the Silver Heights United Church, an affiliate member of the Royal Canadian Legion No. 4, also volunteering much of his time to the Western Canadian Aviation Museum and numerous local and international sporting events. Alans happiest times were spent with Daisy, his children and grandchildren, video camera in hand. He enjoyed golfing, curling, gardening and all types of music. His retirement years were also spent with Daisy on several ocean cruises. A celebration of Alans life will be held on Tuesday, October 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Ave. (Mount Royal & Ness) with Rev. Nancy Saunders officiating. Private family interment will follow on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Silver Heights United Church or a charity of ones choice.
